gatorMounting Materials
We mount prints to a variety of substrates. Following is a list of the more common mounting materials.

Foam Core
Most common is foam board, often called Foam Core. Foam board is a white, light weight board that is inexpensive. This is a perfect product for posters and signage that is to be used one time, framed, or not over 20 x 30 inches. Foam board is soft and the print can show dents if care is not taken in handling and packaging. Foam board is 3/16 inches thick and is available in sizes up to 4 x 8 feet.

Similar to foam board, GatorFoam is made with a wood based surface. It is extremely rigid and very flat. GatorFoam board is the choice for projects where the board is going to handled repeatedly (i.e. trade shows) or transported. The added rigidity of GatorFoam allows for extremely large mounting without any bowing of the print. GatorFoam is available in white and black, 3/16 and 1/2 inch thickness, and in sizes up to 4 x 8 feet.

When extreme durability is needed Sintra will be the choice of mounting materials. Made from expanded PVC, Sintra is durable and waterproof. Because of it’s extremely hard surface, prints mounted to Sintra will resist dents and crushed corners. This is a perfect products for trade show displays where prints will be used repeatedly and shipped often. Sintra is available in white, black, and a variety of other colors by special order. Normal thickness are 3mm (1/8"), 6 mm (1/4"). Other thicknesses are available by special order. Maximum size is 4 x 10 feet.

Medium Density Overlay
MDO board is a wood panel. It is usually made of plywood, coated with outer layers of resin-impregnated kraft paper. MDO is used for outdoor signage. We can mount prints as large as 4 x 8 feet on MDO panels. Thickness are 1/2 and 3/4 inch.

Back lit panes can be mounted to translucent acrylic (Plexiglas) for use in light boxes and backlit displays.
